Patricia Lyn Thompson, 67, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away suddenly on November 28, 2014, early in the morning after celebrating Thanksgiving, her favorite holiday, with her family. Lyn loved tennis, golf, needlepoint, and spending time with her family and friends in Springfield and La Quinta, California, including many friends that she had known since elementary school. She was born in Springfield on July 6, 1947, was a Parkview graduate and a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church. Lyn was preceded in death by her father and mother, Warren and Helen Noblett. She is survived by her husband, George Milam Thompson III, the love of her life, with whom she celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on November 26, 2014. She is also survived by her two children George Milam (Miles) Thompson IV, and Emily Elizabeth Givens; her son-in-law Drew Givens; her grandchildren Sterling, Harper, Hampton, Grant, Avery, and Elle; her sister Elizabeth Ann Rowland; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her dog Lulu. The memorial service will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 10:30am with Reverend Billy Wear officiating. Visitation will be Monday, December 1, 2014, from 6-8pm, at the funeral home (1947 East Seminole, Springfield). There will be a private family burial service.
