Patricia Dean Smith, (Wetherell), passed from this earth on December 26, 2020. She is free of the chains of pain and old age. Patricia was born July 24, 1933 in Kansas City Kansas to loving parents Gene and Mary Wetherell. She had two siblings, Joseph Wetherell, (died as an infant) and her beloved sister Betty Glenn who preceded in death. Patricia was a Methodist minister's daughter and lived in many cities in the state of Missouri.

Patricia was educated in Columbia MO at Steven's College and the University of Missouri where she met the love of her life JN Smith. They were married and settled in Springfield MO where she lived much of her life. She and JN were married 50 years until his death in 2006. She and JN had four children, Carolee Smith, Springfield MO. Stuart Smith (Jonelle) Rogersville MO. Lisa Parks, Oak Grove MO. Kevin Smith, Campbell CA. She had four grandchildren. Charlotte Smith, Springdale AR. Molly Metras (Chris) Rogersville MO. Riley Smith, Kansas City MO. Maddy Park, Kansas City MO.

Patricia was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, Springfield MO. She was active in the United Methodist Women's organization at the local, state and national levels. She loved to cook and entertain and never met a stranger. She always found the good in everyone. Anyone that knew her, never went hungry.

There is no formal funeral service planned. The family will have a graveside service at a future date. The family would like to thank Britni Long for all your care and love you gave our mother. We would like to thank all the staff at Willard Care Center for the professional and loving care you provided our mother in her final days.

Mom, your life was well lived. Fare thee well.
