Patricia Anne Rixe (nee Lytle) died Friday, August 29th, 2025, at the Neighborhoods at Quail Creek Nursing Facility in Springfield, Missouri. She was born June 3, 1928, in Stillwater, OK to Frances and Montgomery Bell Lytle and married Frederick H. Rixe in 1955 in Stillwater, OK. Patsy and Fred moved to Springfield in 2007 and resided at The Montclair Senior community apartments where she lived for fifteen years. Mr. Rixe died in 2009.
Aunt Patsy, as she was known and loved, is survived by many nieces and nephews; Gene Paul Munson (Peggy), Peoria, AZ, Joyce Munden (Wallace), Springfield, MO, Deborah Stroud (Robert D.), Batesville, AR, and Pam Wuestenberg (Bill),Davenport, IA, predeceased by niece, Susan Finister (L.D.), Little Rock, AR, and nephew Michael Lytle (Maggie), Monroe, LA and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. One special great niece, Lona Panyard, (Nick), St. Petersburg, FL, provided numerous visits of joy and care in Patsy's later years. Joyce and Wallace were fortunate to have had their aunt close by for the past eighteen years and Patsy was also lucky to have the care of her nurse/friend, Shelia Kipf, while living in Springfield.
Patsy was a graduate of Stillwater High School and held undergraduate (Home Economics) and graduate (Library Science) degrees from the current Oklahoma State University. She loved people; especially family, books, nature, art and the State of Oklahoma. She was an expert seamstress, quilter, cook, and gardener.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 29th, 10:00 A.M., at Springfield Veterans Cemetery where she will be buried beside her husband, Fred, who served his country in WWII and the Korean Conflict. Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield, MO, is handling the arrangements.
