Patricia Reith, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many, passed away in her home on Thursday, May 13, 2010 surrounded by family. She immediately proceeded to the gates of heaven where she was reunited with her husband, Ron who was waiting with open arms. Pat was born in Chicago in 1933 to Myron and Catherine Morehart. She moved to Springfield in 1963, and was a member of Immaculate Conception parish. She is survived by daughter Laura Uzzell and husband Bill, son Steve Reith and wife Mary, daughter Julie Reith, and the two joys of her life, grandchildren Alexander and Abigail Rose Reith. Also surviving are two sisters, Barbara Annen and Jane Murphy (husband Bryan) all of Florida and a host of nieces and nephews. Pat was a vibrant and strong woman. Widowed at age 38, she worked in the insurance industry enabling all three of her children to complete college educations. In lieu of retirement, Pat chose a "part-time, temporary" position with the Orchard Hills Pharmacy family which spanned ten years until the time of her death. Owners Jeff and Lynette Goetzinger are cherished for their kindness and love. Pat enjoyed spending time visiting Julie in Hawaii, her sisters in Florida, Thursday Lunch with Laura and Steve and immersing herself in her grandchildren's activities especially Sunday Lunches. Love, laughter and courage will be her legacy. Later, never good-bye, to Patricia Rose. A brief prayer service with visitation to follow will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 17, in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on May 18 in Immaculate Conception Church with Private Burial.
