Patricia Lee Pignon, 83 of Springfield, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2011. Patt was born in Kansas City, Missouri, June 15, 1928, the daughter of the late Paul and Idella Putthoff. She was united in marriage on October 9, 1948, to her sweetheart Harold, this union lasted 62 years. Patt and Hal had one child, Russell Pignon who is married to Susan also of Springfield. She has one granddaughter, Heidi, who is married to Jeff Carroll of Shawnee, Kansas. Patt was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was a member of St. Monica's Guild, as well as a former member of the St. John's Hospital Guild. Patt served as a bookkeeper for several companies in her working years. Patt was an avid fisherman, especially if it took her out on the Pacific Ocean deep-sea fishing. It always tickled her to out fish the men on the boats and return home with gunnysacks full of fish for Hal, Russ and Sue to clean. She also enjoyed several cruise trips with Hal as well as a special trip she made to Medjugorje, Bosnia. Mom, know that you will always be loved and missed but we know that you are at peace probably getting in a hand of rummy with Dad. Visitation will be held from 7pm - 8pm, Thursday, June 30th at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Springfield, Friday, July 1st at 9:30am, with Father Lewis Hejna celebrant, with graveside service to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
