Patricia Jane Keagy, 87, of Springfield, MO peacefully passed away at 11:15 a.m. the 7th day in May surrounded by family. She was born the daughter of Harold Mahaffy and Susie Duckworth Mahaffy in Independence, KS on the 11th of September, 1936. In her life she was a faithful member of Schweitzer Church in Springfield, MO. Pat graduated from Wichita North High School and later graduated with a Bachelors in Science in Physical Education from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS. She had a love of music at a young age and enjoyed playing cello, piano, handbells and singing. She also enjoyed exercising at the Pat Jones YMCA, playing Rummikub with family, and traveling the many different parts of the world. Her sweet spirit, infectious laugh, big heart, and warm hugs brightened any day and will be greatly missed. She lived fully and loved deeply.
Pat was joined in heaven by her parents, Harold Mahaffy and Susie Duckworth Mahaffy.
She is survived by her husband, Charles (Buck) Keagy of Springfield, MO, of 67 years of marriage. Her three daughters June Keagy of Springfield, MO, Rose Keagy of Dallas, TX, and Ann Zacharias (Rick Zacharias) of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Her four grandchildren Stephanie Willoughby (Randall Willoughby) of MO, Mary Kohan (Joseph Kohan) of FL, Kathryn Zacharias of CA, and Steven Zacharias of CA. Her five great-grandchildren Kalen Willoughby, Gavin Willoughby, Asher Kohan, Noah Kohan, and Eden Kohan.
Pat's beautiful life will be celebrated during her Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. the 24th day in May, at Schweitzer Church 2747 E. Sunshine Springfield, MO 65804, with Reverend Mason officiating, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans' Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. following the Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask for donations to Schweitzer Church, YMCA, Breast Center of the Ozarks, and Springfield Botanical Gardens.
