Obituary

Patricia Ann Graham, known as Pat to all her friends, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2021, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Pat was born February 23, 1938, in New York City to Patrick and Johanna Mitchell. The oldest of four children, Pat helped raise her siblings as her mother's health began to fail when Pat was only sixteen. Pat graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1958. Upon graduation, Pat worked as a switchboard operator for AT&T. In 1959, a close friend introduced Pat to the man who would soon become the love of her life, Dan Graham. Pat and Dan married in New York City on February 25, 1961. To this union, three sons were born.

Pat's greatest joys in life came from spending time with her husband and raising her three sons. Having moved from New York to Tulsa, OK in 1974, Pat worked as a stay-at-home mom during the early years of her children's lives. Later in life, Pat worked in the business office at Holland Hall School in Tulsa, OK for many years. Upon retirement, Pat and her husband moved to Edgewater, FL where they enjoyed playing tennis, boating, dancing, traveling, and spending time with friends. Pat's favorite travel experiences included a Rhine River cruise, a trip to Italy and the Greek Isles, and multiple trips to Hawaii. After ten years in Florida, Pat and her husband moved to southern California before settling in Springfield, MO in 2008 – both moves precipitated by a desire to be close to family.

Pat is survived by her loving husband of 60 years; son and daughter-in-law Dan and Crystal Graham of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law John and Kris Graham of Claremont, CA; son Michael of Springfield; sister Mary Lou Duffy of Cortlandt Manor, NY; brother and sister-in-law John and Alice Mitchell of Queens Village, NY; sister and brother-in-law Alice and Bert Schott of Chesterfield, MO; granddaughters Lindsay, Katie, Paige, and Becky; great grandson Milo; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pat will be forever known for the unbreakable bond she forged with her husband, her steadfast love and support for her three sons, her consideration of others, and her sweet and sunny disposition. Hers was a life well lived.

Pat's family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff members at The Manor at Elfindale for their loving care and kindness and to Integrity Home Care hospice nurse, Karolyn Farleigh.

In accordance with Pat's wishes, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
