March 28, 1944 – January 21, 2022
On January 21, 2022, Patrick William Keohane passed away at the age of 77. He will forever be remembered by his wife Ann Keohane, his son Kevin Keohane, his daughters Katie Keohane, Beth Pottios, Son-in-law Pete Pottios, daughter-in-law Erika Keohane and his grandchildren Sarah, Ashley, Ray, Annie, Jonas, and Owen. He will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Nora, sisters Ann, Eileen, brothers Tom and Teddy and sons John and Eddie.
Pat retired as the Warden from the federal medical center in Springfield, Missouri, after 32 years of dedicated service to the Bureau of Prisons. Prior to his BOP career he was a police officer in Springfield. He also proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for 2 years.
Pat was raised in Springfield by his parents Tom and Nora Keohane along with his 9 siblings. Ann York, Noreen Penn, Tom Keohane, Teddy Keohane, Eileen Marden, Kay Verfurth, Michael Keohane, Billy Keohane, and Chris Keohane. He will be greatly missed by the countless friends he made throughout his many progressions and relocations with the BOP. Pat was often regarded as a Legendary Leader for his countless contributions and sacrifices to the BOP along with two of his brothers who also served as wardens at various duty locations. The Keohane "Legacy" consisted of several family members who also worked for the BOP, to include his son, both of his daughters, his son-in-law and three nephews.
The funeral arrangements will be handled by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home 1947 E. Seminole Street, Springfield, Missouri 65804. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 29 th at 11:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker, Ozark, Missouri, and he will be laid to rest following it at the Resurrection Cemetery.
