Parcus "Woody" Wood, 92, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Parcus was born March 19, 1934, in Strafford, Missouri, to Charles and Mitty Wood.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Parcus.

He married Betty Dudley, his wife of 66 years, on January 9, 1960.  

Military service was his career and passion. He served active-duty Navy from 1954-1958, and the Navy Reserve for 22 years.

Parcus loved and served the Lord. He and Betty led their children to do the same.

Parcus is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Keith Wood of North Carolina, Robyn Wood-Gables of Fort Worth, Texas, Mitchell Wood of Springfield, MO, Rodney Wood of Minnesota and Jerry Wood of Lake of the Ozarks.  Parcus was blessed with 13 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, 2 great-grands, with 2 more on the way!

A visitation will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood Road, Springfield.
