Deacon P. Michael Steele (Mike), 74, of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, January 29, 2017.

Born February 19, 1942 in Miami, FL to Paul M. Steele and Mary E. Kemna Steele. He received his Bachelor of Professional Studies at the University of Memphis in 1984; Master of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University New Orleans in 1998; Master of Holistic Ministries in 2003 and Doctorate of Holistic Studies in 2005 through American Institute of Holistic Theology. He completed the clinical pastoral education program in 2000 through Methodist Health Care of Memphis. He became a Deacon of the Catholic Church in 2000 in Memphis.

Michael was a loving husband of Deanna (Baker) Steele since 1961, a devoted father to Paula Matthews and Paige (Bobby) Smith; grandfather to Rachel Pruitt, Evan (Rachel) Puckett, Paul Puckett and Noah Smith (dec.); great-grandfather to Harley Iannarone.

Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
