Reverend Norman H. Rahmoeller, 81, passed away August 1, 2009 in Springfield, Rehab and Health Care Center after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Norman was born near Stotts City, MO on March 26, 1928 to John and Laura Kleeman Rahmoeller. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1945, Drury University in 1948 and Eden Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO in 1951. He was ordained in the Christian Ministry of the United Church of Christ in June of 1951. He pastored churches in Morrison and Stolpe, MO from 1951 to 1958; St. Paul Church in Columbia, IL from 1958 to 1967 and Friedens Church in Warrenton, MO from 1967 to 1990 where he was awarded "Pastor Emeritus" standing. He and his wife Lois, retired to Springfield, MO in 1990 where he served several interims at local churches. Norman was very active in the Missouri Mid-South Conference of the United Church of Christ serving as chairman for three years and on many other boards and committees of the conference as well as in the local community. Norman married Lois A. Vorderbrugge on May 16, 1954 and is survived by his wife and two sons, Kenneth and wife Eileen of W. Boloomfield, MI; David and wife Debra of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren Shanee', Brianna, Danielle and Sean, all of whom he greatly loved. The family would like to thank Springfield Rehab and Seasons Hospice for their care and support. Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Chapel UCC, 4344 S. Fremont, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 2:00 PM. The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. John's Chapel UCC Endowment Fund or Eden Seminary.
