Norman Ellsworth Nibert, 83, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on April 3, 2015. Norman was born to Dexter (Deck) and Nadeen Nibert in Pocahontas Arkansas. Norman served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed at Elkins-Swyers Company in 1954. He later became owner of the company from 1987 until he retired in 1997. He was also successful in real estate with many rental properties. His love of music was quite evident to anyone that visited him. He enjoyed playing ragtime piano and also his player pianos which gave him and others listening great pleasure. Norman was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Nibert. He is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws: Mike (Debra) Nibert of College Station Texas, Steve (Carla) Nibert of Kimberling City Missouri and Drs. David (Carol) Nibert of Wichita Kansas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren : Amy, Melissa. Cory, Melanie, Nick, Natalie and Jack. In addition he has seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 1 pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 1707 W Chestnut Expy, Springfield, MO 65802, or the Boy Scout Troop #16 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1551 E Portland St, Springfield, MO 65804.
