Obituary

Norma Jean Wilson, 93, passed away on September 29, 2021, in Springfield, MO.

She was born March 29, 1928, in Phillipsburg, MO, in the home, the daughter of Ben and Fleta (Burd) Tribble.  Norma lived in the Phillipsburg area all her life until she moved with her husband, Roy, to Ozark in 2001. In 2015, she moved to Springfield and has resided there since.

Norma attended Phillipsburg High School and Missouri State Teachers College (MSU). She married Roy C. Wilson on July 24, 1961, in Lebanon, MO. She was a member of Phillipsburg Christian Church.

Norma was very proud of her teaching career and was a well-respected teacher.  She taught for 40 years; teaching 1 st through 8 th grades in three one-room country schools: Bear Thicket, Dry and Dusty, and Bland (all near Lebanon). Norma also taught in Lebanon, Phillipsburg, and Conway.

She enjoyed spending time at their Table Rock Lakeside property, attending auctions, garage sales, flea markets, and walking.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy C. Wilson; siblings, Peggy Reagan, Robert Tribble, and Joanne Babb.  She is survived by her children, Danny Wilson and wife Christi, Phillipsburg, MO, Regina Coker and husband Mike, Springfield, MO, and Renita Randall and husband Keeth Works, Nixa, MO; grandchildren, Brandon Wilson and wife A'nna, Marshfield, MO, Lauren Mitchell and husband Cory, Lebanon, MO, Jeremy Wilson and wife Haley, Phillipsburg, MO, Shelby Randall, Nixa, MO, and Samuel Randall, Ozark, MO; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and treasured friends.

The family would like to thank Ravenwood Assisted Living and Intrepid Hospice for the compassion and care they provided to Norma.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Friday, October 1, 2021, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Lonesome Hill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lonesome Hill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, MO (and sent to Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO 65804), or any animal rescue shelter of the donor's choice.
