Obituary

Norma Pottenger, 84, Springfield, MO passed away July 2, 2017 at Maple Wood Alzheimer's Special Care Center.  She was born in San Francisco, California on October 24, 1932 the daughter of Alejo and Dinorah Diaz.

Norma worked for BNSF Railroad for 29 years.  She was a dedicated English Catholic and enjoyed listening to classic hymns.  She volunteered playing the piano at The Hulston Center and The Montclair.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. Pottenger and two sisters and one brother, Mary, Tina and Rudy. Norma is survived by their two sons, Ron and Don and his wife, Jana; four grandchildren Ben, Brandon and fiancé Kiley Walker, Chris and wife Dawn and Tony; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Austin; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, July 7, 2017 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1630 W. Elfindale, Springfield, MO 65807.
