Obituary

Norma Jane McQueen, 89, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away soon after a stroke peacefully at home on October 19,  2022.

Norma was born in Conway, MO on May 12, 1933, to Albert and Janie (Wood) Haymes. They had a large family of 10 girls and three boys. Norma was the 4th oldest.

Norma graduated from Marshfield H.S. and excelled at typing winning a state award for it. She worked most of her working life at Howard Johnson's Restaurant of nearly 30 plus years.  She has served meals to presidents George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan,  and other dignitaries.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 30 years, Robert J. McQueen and daughter, Robin Dee Dunnam.

She is survived by her siblings Mary Mitchell, Albert "Butch" Haymes, Dorothy Conway, Dee Dee Lowry, Sharon Smith and Amy Jo (Candy) Youngblood; son Robert Lee McQueen (Judith); son-in-law,  Gary Dunnam; grandchildren Ryan Dunnam (Danielle), Aubrey Dunnam, Matthew Dunnam, Naomi McQueen and Rachel Ogle (Ryan) and great grandchildren Juno and Chloe Doggett, Emillano and Harper Dunnam and Liam Ogle.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole St., Springfield, MO 65804. Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26 at the Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 E. Seminole St., Springfield, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Humane Society, 3161 W. Norton Rd, Springfield, MO, 65803.
