Norma Lou (Range) Giddings, 87, passed away November 23, 2017, in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole. A memorial service celebrating Norma's life will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Norma was born July 19, 1930, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was the second of two daughters born to Charles and Ruth (Horne) Range. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley Anne Peters; and her late husband, Dr. Frank C. Giddings.

Norma grew up in Nebraska and Iowa. She graduated from Sac City High School in Sac City, Iowa, attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and became a Registered Nurse. Norma and Frank met on a blind date, and were married for 61 years. They adored one another, and their abiding love and devotion touched all who knew them.

Norma was a wonderful woman, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and cherished her family and friends. She was deeply committed to her faith community at Campbell United Methodist Church. Norma was a genuinely happy person, beloved for her kindness, humor and sweet spirit.

Norma is survived by her sons and daughters and their families: Jim and Cindy Giddings; Cathy and Bill Gonyea; Tom and Liz Giddings; Dick and Debbie Giddings; David and Marilyn Giddings; and Mary and Todd Hall.
