Norbert "Bert" Paredes passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024.  Bert was born December 27, 1947, in Germany.  Bert's younger years were spent in Germany with his mother until she married George Paredes and the family moved to Texas.  Bert resided in Roxborough Colorado.

Bert is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dr. Katherine "Kate" Blacklock, and his parents, George and Elfriede Paredes.  Bert is survived by his brother, Jack Paredes (Mary) and sister, Helen Paredes of Texas, nephews Devin Paredes, Joshua Paredes, and Zachary Paredes and great-nephew Jack; nieces, Kelley (McGowen) Sobell (Steve), great-nephews Sam Sobell and Corey Sobell; Kelly (Blacklock) Bereyso (Ozgur Akdeniz), and great-nieces, Ereca Alford and Erin (Bereyso) Love (Travis).

Bert held a BS in Computer Science and spent much of his career in the Aerospace field.  Bert was a proud Member of the Mensa Society, enjoyed photography, reading and gardening.  Together, Kate and Bert loved raising their two Poodles, Bogie and Kona. They enjoyed traveling and incorporated their love for Genealogy throughout their adventures.

Bert was generous with his time and knowledge to all who knew him. His vast knowledge on many topics made conversations with Bert informative.

Graveside Service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, MO on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 11 a.m.
