Nola Yvonne Bohrer, 74, Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, in her home. She was born on August 17, 1936, in Ava, MO, to Royce B. and Nola M. (Garrison) Stanton. Yvonne married Joseph A. Bohrer on October 12, 1968. She was a founding partner and former president of Bohrer Croxdale & McAdoo, an insurance brokerage firm. She was on several state and national insurance boards and committees, as well as a former president of the Downtown Springfield Association and former Springfield Chamber of Commerce board member. Yvonne had many artistic interests and enjoyed decorating homes, cooking, and selling antiques. She loved to golf and travel and was a great fan of MSU men's basketball. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister Betty L. Sanders. Survivors include her husband, Joe; daughters, Pamela Manes and husband Russell of Springfield, MO and Cindy Akers of Corpus Christi, TX; son, Scott Pope and wife Lori of St. Charles, MO; nephew, John Sanders and wife Jill of Springfield, MO; granddaughters, Bailey Hampton and Staci Hampton of Springfield, MO; and grandsons, Travis Pope and Jeremy Pope of St. Charles, MO. Services will be held Thursday, June 2, at 11:00 am in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverend Laura Fregin officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Missouri State University Foundation.
