Obituary

Nikki Marie Rose was born on March 1, 1984 and passed away unexpectedly on Friday February 11, 2022. Nikki was full of spirit and sass. She was very generous and always willing to help anyone in need. She never wanted those she cared about to be upset or hurting.

Nikki was preceded in death by her grandmother, LaVerta Hartley whom she helped care for in the final years of her life. She is survived by her mother Debby Rose, sister Tonya Brady and husband Neil, brother TJ Rose and wife Cyndi, brother Drew Rose and wife Kinsey, sister Dana Coale and husband Justin, and sister Debby Gettle and husband Ryan. She is also the aunt to four nieces: Kaitlyn, Chloe, Maddison, and Mylee, and nine nephews: Tanner, Harper, Thaddaeus, Mason, Gabriel, Nathanael, Gibson, Ethan, and Marshall. Nikki also leaves behind her fiancé Jerimiah Green. Nikki is deeply loved and the role she played in each of our lives will forever leave its mark.

Nikki was a devoted dog mom to several pups throughout her life, most recently: Pepper, Sadie, and Molly. She loved spending time at the farm with her mom Debby, helping with the animals (many that they rescued together), managing the apartments at the Walnut house, canoeing and floating at the river, playing with her nieces and nephews, working at the church preparing and serving meals, watching movies, all genres of music, texting with her sisters in "the girl group", and date nights with her man.

Nikki was also an insulin dependent diabetic from the time she was fifteen months old, and though at times her diabetes caused her much distress, she never gave up trying to learn all of the latest advancements in technology or how she could better count carbs and meal plan. She was always interested in educating and helping others manage their diabetes better too. Nikki was a friend to those who were hurting or in sticky situations. She was an encourager and a confidant.

Nikki became a Christ follower when she was in her teens and would be the first to tell you not to stay sad for her for too long. She loves the Lord and is no doubt living her best life as a new creation restored to perfection. One of her favorite scripture verses was Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I know it is her prayer that we will find strength in the memories and the good times that we shared with Nikki, knowing that she loved her "people" more than anything in the world. She would want us to honor her life by continuing to live our lives to the fullest. She would want us to love big and to be generous to those around us. She would also want us to enjoy a large diet coke with extra ice at least once a day.
