Obituary

Nicole G. Zangrilli, 79, who was born in Reims, France passed away of January 3, 2026.

She graduated from St. Agnes High School.  Her parents Huguette Zangrilli-Trapp and Frank Zangrilli predeceased her, as did her step-father of 51 years, Alan W. Trapp.

She is survived by four daughters: Tania Thomas (Jerald), Teresa Hawes (Todd), Kimberly Watts (Jay), and Katherine Leatherman, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She retired from Federal Civil Service in 2006 and was presented with the Outstanding Career Civil Service Medal.  She believed in, and served God, Family and Country.  Her version of a favorite quote was "Life has an unknown expiration date; live every day to the fullest; laugh, love and be happy".  Nicole spent her final years living in the Kansas City area, surrounded by her extended family. Her favorite charities were the Salvation Army of Springfield and Independence, Missouri.

Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2026 at 10:30 am at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home and a service will start at 11:00 am with burial following in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 1737 S. Campbell Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65807.
