Nichole “Niki” Denise Bedell passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Niki was preceded in death by her father, John Holmes, and her beloved grandparents, Earnie and Thelma Bedell. She is survived by her mother Shirley Bedell (Springfield); her daughter, Anisha Bedell and fiancée Natasha Zumalt (Springfield); Jerry D’Andre Bedell and wife Tiara (Springfield); daughter Shawntelle (Peytre) McCrimmons (Arkansas); and son Sha’Juan Dominique. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Tiana (mother Hatti Shelton), Ayden, and Aquira, along with a host of close cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Niki was a bright and curious soul with a deep love of learning. From an early age, she showed exceptional intelligence and a passion for reading, especially enjoying encyclopedias and newspapers. She excelled academically and skipped the 2nd grade due to her advanced intelligence. She graduated from Central High School, always seeking new challenges and opportunities to grow.

Throughout her life, Niki was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She spent over a decade building a strong work ethic, including her time with the Springfield News-Leader. She also achieved success at Gold Mountain Communications, where her efforts earned her several awards. Niki furthered her education by completing training with H&R Block, and obtaining her paralegal certification. She used her knowledge to help others with their taxes over the years. She was always striving to better herself and expand her skills.

Niki had a passion for cooking and dreamed of one day owning her own food truck, where she could share her love of food with others. She also enjoyed watching basketball and had a fondness for Nike apparel.

Above all, Niki will be remembered for her intelligence, determination, and the love she shared for family and friends and those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO 65804. A short service will follow from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the funeral home.
