IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Neva J.
Mcanally
October 12, 1931 – February 24, 2023
Neva Jean McAnally, age 91, left this life Friday, February 24, 2023 at Glendale Gardens Nursing and Rehab Facility with family by her side. Mom taught us not to be selfish, so we watched as she left on her journey, free of pain and sorrow, to be with friends and loved ones waiting for her with open arms and love. A loving reunion was had with her loving husband, Keith.
Neva Jean Dedmon was born October 12, 1931 on the family farm north of Mansfield, MO. She was the youngest of six children born to H.A. and Zella Dedmon.
Several years later she moved to Seymour, MO when her parents sold the farm and retired to a smaller acreage. While attending Seymour High School, she worked at the local drug store behind the soda fountain where she met her future husband. She says that she won him over by adding extra scoops of ice cream in his malts.
Years after that meeting, the eighteen year old princess eloped with her prince charming, of course with her parents' blessings, to be wed in Mt. Home, AR on December 7, 1949.
Neva was part of the staff at Royal McBee when the plant opened in Springfield. She later went to work and retired from Kraft Foods.
Upon retirement, Neva and Keith spent time traveling and going on special trips with their grandchildren. Neva enjoyed buying and collecting antique glassware and jewelry. Her favorite duty was being the grandmother to six grandchildren and five great granddaughters and one more on the way.
Neva was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her parents and brothers and sisters. She will also be met by her grandson, Billy, a reunion she has been looking forward to.
Neva is survived by her sons Robert (Janice) of Branson and Kevan (Teresa) of Nixa; grandchildren Natalie (Brad) Reasons, Robert Jr. (Mindy), Matthew (Markiea) Holmes, Anna (Brady) Sears, Baylea (Jon) Sevilla and five beautiful great granddaughters Jasmine, Mia, Victoria, Evelyn and Ariel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 4 in Hazelwood Cemetery.
Donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Glendale Gardens Nursing and Rehab facility and to Rhonda and Tina for always being there for Mom.
