Obituary

Netta Ann (Potter) McBride passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Manor at Elfindale in Springfield, MO. Netta was born in Elsey, Missouri on March 2, 1933, the daughter of John Covie Potter and Mayme Marie Cupp. After graduating from Hurley High School, she married Jack Alan McBride in May of 1951 and spent over twenty years traveling the world as an Air Force wife.

She and Jack made their home in Springfield, MO in 1969, after his retirement from the service. She proceeded to become involved in several organizations and activities. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi, and Studio 55. Netta was also a member of Elwood Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting and playing her organ, and she truly loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; two sisters, Fay Hultz and Virginia Wisecup. She is survived by son Dennis McBride (Janet) of Springfield and Susan Jones (David) of Pass Christian, MS; one brother, Carl Potter (Lea), of Springfield; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM. Graveside Service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
