Nelda L. Branson, 85, of Springfield, MO passed away at 11:15pm Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Ash Grove Health Care Facility in Ash Grove, MO. Nelda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She used love of family, creativity and hard work to provide a warm, inviting home. Her kitchen table was always open to family, friends, and strangers alike. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield where she attended the Chapel Sunday School Class. Over the years, Nelda served in many capacities mentoring children and young adults of the church in their faith. Nelda was preceded in death by her father, Henry Clay Procter; mother, Myrtle Dale Steenbergen Procter; Brother, Floyd Colbert Procter; and daughter, Kathy Dale Branson. She is survived by her husband, Lyle D. Branson, Springfield, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sharon Branson, Ozawkie, KA; daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Bob McDonough, Jefferson City, MO; daughter, Connie Condict, Ash Grove, MO; Grandchildren, Alan Branson (Tracy), Marshall, MO; Chad Branson (Carrie), Ozawkie, KA; Laura Branson Mobley (John), Herndon, VA; Erin McDonough Strong (Steve), Columbia, MO; Megan McDonough, Jefferson City, MO; Cody Condict, Ash Grove, MO; Jake Condict, Springfield, MO; and Kinsey Condict Rhudy (Ryan), Springfield, MO; fourteen great-grandchildren, a sister, Carol Procter Beck (Martin), Jefferson City, MO; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, April 26, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Springfield with the Reverend Michael Overton officiating, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time, Thursday in the Chapel. Burial will be held at 2:00pm in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children's Home in Mt. Vernon, MO.
