Obituary

Neil Byron McCall born May 7, 1950, took his heavenly chariot home July 26, 2025. He was surrounded by immediate family and went in peace. He was the beloved son of Byron and Doris McCall.

Neil is Survived by his mother Doris, wife Carol, two sons Mason and Cory, grandchildren Naomi and Hendrix, brother Brian McCall (Cynthia) and brother-in-law Lonnie Schauwecker.

Neil was predeceased by his two sisters Toni Palmer and Jaunita McCall-Schauwecker, his father Byron, in addition to both of his in-laws, Joe and Ruby Petteway.

He was born in St. Louis Missouri and attended the University of Missouri journalism school where he met his wife Carol. Neil was a testament to good husbands and fathers everywhere, striving to keep a marriage together for over 50 years and raising two loving sons for 38 years during that time. Neil personified what it means to give all of oneself to serve.

Continually using large amounts of his time and resources to help anyone in need. If he wasn't volunteering or spending time counseling others he enjoyed baseball games and seeing friends and family. The number of lives he's positively impacted is countless. His faultless dedication to honesty and integrity lives on in the minds of his family.

He was also an avid golfer which he largely took up due to his professional life of being a financial planner but that blossomed into an activity that he shared with his sons as a favorite pastime.

Neil had an unquenchable thirst for helping. He wanted to be of service to everyone. People tended to view him as a mentor. He was successful but humble, kind and passionate but also willing to fight for what he believed in. It wasn't long after meeting him that people could see he was a man worth emulating.

The amount of grace and bravery that Neil met his end with is a testament to his character. Struggling to the very end to make sure everyone in the room with him was at more peace than he was.

His legacy will live on in our hearts reminding us to always put others first and "don't worry be happy".

A heartfelt thank you to the people at cox hospital and the family who were there to make his transition easier.
