Neil Ray Griot of Springfield, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at age 62. Neil was born on June 7, 1960, in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1978 and attended college at both Abilene Christian College and Southwest Missouri State University. Neil married Julie, his wife of 36 years, on April 12, 1986.

Neil was preceded in death by his father, Dr. George Griot, and mother, Dolores Griot.

Neil is survived by his wife Julie; son Corey and his wife Felicia, Kansas City; son Cameron and his wife Teri, Springfield; brother Mark, Springfield; brother Lane and wife Cindy, Springfield. Neil was also looking forward to the arrival of his first grandchild by Corey and Felicia this spring.

Neil took advantage of his love and ability to talk to people through a 40-year career in sales. He enjoyed traveling both for work and to vacation with family. Neil was a passionate cook who loved to share his wonderful food while hosting at his home. When he wasn't working or with family, you could find Neil working on cars and doing projects around the house. He also often helped family and friends with their repair needs. Neil was a fiery Kansas City Chiefs fan and was over the moon with their string of victories in recent years.

In lieu of a funeral, there will be a celebration of life Monday, March 20, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center in the Fiji Ballroom located at 2546 N Glenstone Ave in Springfield. Neil was an avid dog lover; in lieu of flowers, donations in Neil's honor can be made to Rescue One of Springfield.
