Nancy Lee Wiley of Springfield passed away peacefully on the evening of May 30 from the complications surrounding Alzheimer's disease. Throughout her life she nurtured those around her as Girl Scout leader, cook in the public schools, teachers' aide, volunteer, foster mother, and head of kitchen at Boy Scout Camp Arrowhead. She is survived by her husband, Hew, three children, five grandchildren, more than 40 foster children, and several thousand well-fed Boy Scouts. We assume she has the coffee on and a cobbler in the oven, awaiting our arrival. An informal memorial will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Saturday, June 3, from 2-4 pm, with an invitation to share fond memories at 3pm.
