Nancy Jane Hubbard Shaw passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 in St. John's Regional Health Center. She was born April 27, 1937 in Springfield, Missouri the eldest child of Mary Hester and Edward M. Hubbard. She graduated from Central High School and attended Missouri State University. She retired in December of 2002 after more than thirty years of service with the Springfield Public Schools as the Assistant Director of Personnel. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles R. Shaw, her sister, Mary Jeanette Kuhn and her husband Dan of Springfield, her niece Mary Melinda Kuhn of Grapevine, Texas, her cousins, Rebecca H. Alberty of Springfield and Mary Elizabeth Brown and her husband Corbett of Edmond, Oklahoma, their sons and grandchildren. Nancy loved spending time with her close-knit family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and decorating her house. Nancy was a sweet, caring, warm-hearted person. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. John's for their compassionate care. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009 in Hazelwood Cemetery with the Revered Lori Lampert officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
