Nancy Susan Rubenstein (née Davis), 91, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri. She leaves behind a life filled with family, hard work, resilience, and many years of love and companionship. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and in God’s care.

Nancy was born in Libertyville, Illinois, to Orpha Burlyn Roberts and Charles Beatty Davis. She was one of three children, growing up alongside her sister, Mary Lou Midkiff, her brother, Charles Davis Jr., and later her half-sister, Vicki Shurley Yowell.

Much of Nancy’s childhood was spent on her grandparents’ farm in Gorman, Texas, where she developed a deep appreciation for family, the land, and the simple pleasures of country life. She attended high school in Rankin, Texas, and later moved to San Antonio for college. There, she met Stephen Blaine Wilson, whom she married.

After traveling the world with the Air Force, Nancy and Steve eventually made their home in Fair Grove, Missouri, where Steve taught vocational agriculture at the local high school. Nancy devoted herself to raising their children and caring for the family on their farm. Together, they raised four children.

In 1982, following her divorce from Steve, Nancy moved to Midland, Texas, where a new chapter of her life began. There she met and married Morris T. Rubenstein, beginning a partnership that would last more than 29 years.

Together, Nancy and Morris built a life centered on family, faith, friendship, and business. They established MARCO Steel and Aluminum Company in Midland, Texas. As the company grew, they opened locations in Midland, Lubbock and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The couple lived together in Albuquerque, with Morris traveling between the locations before eventually settling back in Midland.

In Midland, Nancy especially enjoyed being closer to her sister, Mary Lou, and her extended family. The two sisters shared an interest in genealogy and became active with their local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Nancy and Morris shared many happy years there together until his passing in August 2015.

Nancy was a woman of remarkable determination and independence. Following Morris’s death, she continued to lead MARCO Steel and Aluminum, serving as president until the company was sold in 2023. Her dedication to the business was a testament to her strength, perseverance, and ability to meet life’s challenges with resolve.

Above all, Nancy valued her relationship with God and her family. She will be remembered by those who knew her for the many chapters of her life—as a daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, stepmother, businesswoman, and friend. Her life touched generations of family, and the memories she created will continue to live on in those she loved.

Nancy is survived by her brother, Charles Davis Jr.; her children, Stephen Jr. (Rana), Michael, Donald, and Mary Jane (Richard); her stepchildren, Mary (Rob), Doug (Ann), and Amy (Amit); five grandchildren, Caleb, Brandon, Colin, Adam, and Meghan; five grandchildren by marriage, Emily, Elizabeth, Renn, Maille, and Tait; and one great-grandchild, Ralay Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orpha Burlyn Roberts and Charles Beatty Davis; her half sister, Victoria Yowell; her sister, Mary Lou Midkiff; and her husband, Morris T. Rubenstein.

The family thanks the special caregivers who surrounded Nancy with comfort, love, and support. By sharing their gifts with her, they enabled her to live her final days on earth as she wished.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor Nancy’s memory make donations in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Nancy lived a long and full life, marked by change, perseverance, love, and family. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will remain a blessing to the many people whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace and may those who loved her find comfort in the memories, faith, and legacy she leaves behind.
