Nancy C. Marshall Nancy C. Marshall, 89, took the hand of her Heavenly Father on February 23, 2013 in Springfield, MO. She was the daughter of the late Tony L. and Georgia Hulsey. Nancy was a graduate of Alba High School in Alba, MO. She was happily married to the late Burt O. Marshall in 1966. She was a resident of Springfield for 44 years and owned several businesses including grocery stores and delicatessens, as well as a fabric store. Nancy was the manager of Strawberry Fields Apartments for 25 years and retired at the age of 85. Nancy stated, "My passion is my china painting. I love painting everything from tiny Christmas ornaments to very large sets of dishes and lamps." She enjoyed painting in her studio at Strawberry Fields with her friends. Her family will always treasure her works of art and especially the Christmas ornaments. She traveled abroad with nieces Georgianne, Irma, and Lena Hulsey; Ireland being her most treasured. Nancy was a professional seamstress and enjoyed cooking for her family and passing on her talent, but most of all a devoted Mother and proud Grandmother of her "3 precious granddaughters." Nancy was the rock of our family, one that can never be replaced, but her traditions and values will always carry on. She was preceded in death by her husband Burt O. Marshall; step-son Norman Marshall, Ozark, MO; son-in-law Wayne M. Reddick, Clever, MO; and 6 brothers and a sister. Survivors include daughter Deanie Reddick, Springfield, MO; granddaughters Alyessa Gleason and fiancé Brad H'Doubler, DC of Springfield, MSgt Amy and MSgt Eddie Wells of Dayton, OH, Katy and MSgt James Rice of Warrensburg, MO, and great-grandchildren Jordan, Nick, Jacob, Sam, Shayla, Evan and Kingston. Visitation will be Thursday evening, February 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A private burial will be held on Friday in Joplin, MO. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
