Nadine Maddux, 83, Springfield, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 after a brief illness. She was born December 17, 1927 in Webster County, Missouri to Otto and Belva Rader. Nadine was united in marriage to Bland Maddux on May 17, 1947. She and her husband were grocery store owners. Nadine was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Nadine is survived by a son and his wife, Mark and Shelly Maddux; a daughter and husband, Elaine Maddux and Brian VanFosson; one granddaughter, Elizabeth VanFosson; all of Springfield; a brother and his wife, William and Jane Rader, of Marshfield; a sister-in-law, Lois Atteberry, of Springfield; a brother-in-law, Robert Maddux, of Lebanon; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, February 21, 2011 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2PM to 4PM Sunday, February 20, 2011 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Foundation for Community Health, Women's Services 1235 E. Cherokee Springfield, Missouri 65804.
