Myrtle Hinderer Schafer (Mom Mom), born November 29, 1918 died June 29, 2013 at Ravenwood Assisted Living facility in Springfield where for 5 years she was lovingly cared for by a staff she dearly loved and who in return loved her. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Gail Tombleson (Mike) and grandchildren Michael Tombleson (Angie) of Willard, Kellianne Vom Steeg (Andy) of Santa Rosa, CA and Scott Tombleson (Jennifer) of Portland, ME and great-grandchildren, Trevor, Audra, Ryan, Nicole and Nola, and nieces Carole, Pamela and Jeanne. Myrtle also had a special loving relationship with Gail's sister-in-law Marianne Tombleson Diemer and her family in New Jersey. Myrtle was preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband of 69 years, Jim and dear sisters, Dorothy and Miriam. She was an accomplished athlete, being the South Jersey Woman's Amateur golf champion for many years as well as a businesswoman who managed Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel, NJ before retirement on the Jersey shore. She will be missed by all who have known her over the years for her selfless devotion to family and friends and her outgoing cheerfulness and positive upbeat optimism even during her physical decline.
