Ret.) Edmond Davenport
August 19, 1933 – September 6, 2020
Edmond DeWayne Davenport, 87, of Ozark, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2020. He was surrounded by all his children and many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edmond had a distinctive Military career in the United States Army for over 26 years. During that time he served multiple tours in Vietnam and Korea. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, several Army Air Medals, several Commendation Medals along with a Combat Infantry Badge and an Army Occupation Medal/Germany. After retiring from the Army he started a second career with the United Parcel Service.
On January 12, 1953 he married the love of his life, Anneliese Maria Bohn. To that union six children were born.
Edmond was an avid traveler and during his life he traveled to many exotic parts of the world, which included deployments while in service.
Edmond was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anneliese and his eldest son Ronald Wayne.
Edmond is survived by daughters Linda Tobin of McLouth, KS, Shirley Deshazer (Garry) of Odessa, MO, Patricia Erwin (Mike) of Ozark, MO and Terry Woods (Randy) of Ozark, MO; son, Benjamin Davenport of Ozark, MO; granddaughters Danielle Copeland (James) of McLouth, KS and Shawna Hohlt of Springfield, Tiffany Ringen of Ash Grove, MO; grandsons Michael Erwin (Ruby) of Ozark, MO, Kyle Woods (Misti) of Branson, MO and Brandon Lundby of Los Angeles, CA along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:30 PM on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 PM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
