Monica Helen Reed, 60, Ozark, MO passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in Mercy Hospital. She was born December 30, 1952 in Ironton, MO, the daughter of Rubin and Jane Faris. Monica graduated from Valley High School in Caledonia, MO. She married Eddie Joe Reed in June 1986. Monica was well known by her family and friends as an excellent cook and loved her profession managing the Heart Rock Deli at Hammons Heart Institute. In 2004, Monica was recognized as associate of the year for Mercy Health Systems. Monica was a tremendous asset in the family building and investment property ownership business. Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life. She greatly valued the loving relationship she shared with her sisters, nieces and nephews. She placed tremendous value on her friendships with her co-workers and friends. Her favorite activities included house boating with her daughter and granddaughters and traveling with her husband and family. Monica is preceded in death by her parents; son, Ryan Lands; and sister, Amy Faris. She is survived by her husband, Edward Joe, Ozark, MO; son, Matthew Lands, Belgrade, MO; daughter, Miranda Wimberley, Camdenton, MO; sisters, Kevin Waite, Caledonia, MO, Vicki Jones, Halltown, MO, Kim Fischer, Bismarck, MO, Lisa Taylor, Bismarck, MO, and Abby Tesene, Manhattan, KS. She is also survived by her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, September 27, 2013 in Mountain Valley Freewill Baptist Church, Mt. Grove, MO, with the Reverend Edwin Carter officiating, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm, Friday in the funeral home.
