Obituary

Millard Leslie Morrow,92, of Springfield departed this life peacefully aboard the Frisco Meteor in route to Heaven to be with his wife at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday March 31, 2010 in St. Johns Regional Health Center. Millard was born October 26, 1917 in Springfield Missouri to Alonzo and Doshia Morrow. He was a Army veteran serving in WWII. Millard worked for the Frisco Railroad where he retired as a Locomotive Engineer after 38 years and was a member of the Brotherhood Locomotive Engineers. He was a member of High Street Baptist Church. Millard enjoyed the railroad and telling railroad stories as well as working and tinkering in his workshop and was an avid photographer. He also enjoyed his kids, grand kids and great grand kids. He was always there to help his family and always saw the good in people. Millard was preceded in death by his wife Doris. He is survived by two sons, Jerry and Lyndel Morrow four grand children Arnetta Martin, Leslie Morrow, Michael Morrow and Rebecca Riley; seven great grand children and a brother-in-law Carl Sawyer. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April, 29, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with visitation prior to service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery Springfield, Missouri. The family would like to give a special thanks to Spring Ridge Assisted Living facilities and staff for their compassionate and loving care that was given to Millard for the past 2 1/2 years.
