Obituary

Millard Clark Misemer, 96, formerly of Springfield, Missouri died Sunday, May 31, 2009, in an assisted living care facility in Leavenworth, Kansas. Millard was born September 17, 1912 in Lawrence County, Mo to D.P. and Mae Misemer and grew up on their farm near Halltown, MO. After graduating from high school in Halltown, MO and Draughn's Business School in Springfield, MO; he worked for International Harvester Company for 28 years; Vestal Equipment Co., the IHC dealer in Marshfield, MO; and the IHC company store in Springfield, MO before retiring in 1974. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mabel Misemer; sister Evelyn Nicholson of Springfield, MO; three children, Gerald of Prescott, AZ, Kenny of Port Richey, FL, Kathy Holt of Lansing, KS; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents and two sisters. He was a long time member of Grace Methodist Church in Springfield, Mo. He was, also, a life long avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and he loved gardening. He leaves behind many friends and acquaintances who will be saddened by his passing. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in Southminster Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Bill Havens officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Misemer Cemetery or Hospice Care of Kansas in C/O of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, Mo.
