Mildred Wells Venditto was born in Marshfield, MO on October 25, 1921. She passed away at the age of 100 in Springfield, MO. She was the fourth daughter of Tom and Sarah Wells, a prominent Marshfield family, and joined her three older sisters Lucy, Claire and Marteen growing up in the big house her grandfather Oliver Wells built in 1879.

She served her country proudly in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She married the love of her life, John Venditto on December 9, 1944, who preceded her in death in 2010. They lived in Springfield where they raised their daughter Jane.

Mildred was very musical and sang and played the organ at church. She and John were devoted Catholics. She was currently residing at the Montclair.

Mildred is survived by her daughter Jane Caldwell, granddaughter Amy M. Payne, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. She was so loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at the church, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Marshfield Cemetery.
