Mildred Theresa Schibler, 97, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the Manor at Elfindale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers John Schibler, Barney Schibler, and Rudy Schibler; also by sisters Martha Schibler and Ruth (Schibler) Schultz. She is survived by brothers Martin Schibler and Kenneth Schibler; sisters Anna Schibler and Margaret (Schibler) Armstrong; along with dozens of nieces and nephews. Millie was born Dec. 18, 1913 in Springfield, Missouri to John A. and Frieda Schibler. She was a graduate of Senior High School (Central) in Springfield, Missouri, was a member of St. Agnes Cathedral for almost 90 years, and lived here all her life. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Millie was a longtime photographer at Eleanor Cox Photo Studio and skilled at hand color tinting of black and white portraits. She was a lifelong gardener and loved all plants except bermuda grass. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at St. Agnes Cathedral followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
