Mildred (Midge) Ann Hoffarth Rosenbaum of Springfield, MO died in the early morning hours on August 31st, 2014. Midge was born on February 1, 1925 in Long Prairie, MN to Lewis F. and Anna M. (Fuerstenberg) Hoffarth and grew up on the family farm in Long Prairie. Midge met Raymond E. Rosenbaum in Kansas City, MO and they were married on September 15, 1947. When Ray joined the Air Force, Midge followed him around the world and devoted her life to her family. Each military assignment gave them an opportunity to meet wonderful friends and embrace new experiences. They retired to the Springfield area in 1968. Midge always thanked God for giving her a "beautiful life" and that is attested to by her many friends and family. Midge was also a devoted Roman Catholic and long time member of Immaculate Conception Church. Midge was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her parents, Lewis and Anna Hoffarth, six sisters, Cerilla Hoffarth, Eileen Hoffarth, Isabelle Drager, Marie Hoffarth, Louise Eberle, and Lil Perlinger, and a brother, Roman Hoffarth. Midge is survived by two sons, Randall L. Rosenbaum and his wife, Susan of Shell Knob, MO, and Ross W. Rosenbaum of the home, one daughter, Roxanne VanDerWerf and her husband, Ed of Tempe, AZ, four grandchildren, Amy (Rosenbaum) Harrison and husband, Dave of Lubbock, TX, Melissa (Rosenbaum) Wiatrak, and husband Tony of Carthage, MO, Alex VanDerWerf and Derek VanDerWerf of Tempe, AZ, and five great-grandchildren, sisters Elenore Hathaway of Hesperia, CA and Donna Ketton of Delano, MN and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on a later date and interment will be in the National Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Hospice.
