Mildred Marie (Dyer) Moellering, 93, of Springfield, Missouri, was born May 8, 1919 at the family farm in Silex, Missouri to Guy and Gertrude Dyer and departed this life Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Springfield, Missouri. Millie attended business college in Denver, Colorado before moving to Washington, D.C. in 1941 and then to St. Louis in 1942. She married Vernon Moellering in a double wedding ceremony on September 6, 1947. Vernon and Mildred moved to Springfield in 1955. Millie was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a member of St. Monica's Guild. She was also a member of Mercy Hospital's Auxiliary until June, 2012. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon, her sister Myrtle (Dyer) Moellering, and her son, Mark Moellering. Millie is survived by her son Douglas and his wife Laura Moellering, of Austin, Texas and her daughter Sharon Adam, of Springfield. Other survivors include sister Melva Lavery of Stongsville, Ohio and brother Richard Dyer of West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren: Theresa Adam, Jackie Ancipink and husband Chris, Sam Moellering of Chicago, Illinois and Molly Moellering of Austin, Texas; two great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson, and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Fergus Monaghan, celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
