Michelle Yvonne Tims, 18, passed away Saturday, May 7, as a result of complications associated with her two-year battle with Leukemia. She was born in Springfield, Missouri, January 26, 1993. She is survived by her parents Eddie K. and Rebecca (Becky) Deardorff Tims and her sister, Valerie Tims, all of Springfield; grandparents Eddie (Rudy) and Eloise Tims of Searcy, Arkansas; various aunts, uncles and cousins from out of town. Michelle was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Raymond and Ruth Deardorff, also of Springfield, and her uncle, Bruce Tims of McCrory, Arkansas. Michelle attended Kickapoo High School where she was in her senior year. She was a member of the Youth Choir at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church and an active member of the church's Sunday School and Wednesday evening Logos programs. Her favorite pastimes were singing, going to the movies, eating out, crafts, word puzzles, being in the mix of activity and watching cooking shows and the Disney Channel. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on East Seminole. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 12 at 3:30 p.m. at Maple Park Cemetery at the corner of Grand and Campbell, open to family and friends. A celebration of Michelle's life will be held Thursday, May 12 at 4:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church, 830 E. Cherry Street, with a reception immediately following.
