Michelle Rowland, born on October 12, 1955, in Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, at the Strafford Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering acceptance, and she leaves behind a legacy cherished by all who knew her. Michelle was the beloved daughter of Bill Hare and Patricia Murphy, who both predeceased her, as did her brothers Gary Hare and Johnny Hare.
She is survived by her husband, James Rowland. Together, they shared a beautiful family, including her daughter Angela Wiles, and her cherished grandchildren Lexi, Analeis, Sebastian, and Scarlet, along with three stepchildren. Her brothers, Mike Wixon and Scott Buchanan, also survive her, alongside her dear friend Debra DeYoung and numerous other friends and family members who were touched by her gentle spirit.
A proud graduate of River Forest High School in East Gary, Indiana After Highschool Michelle spent many years working at the Gary Screw and Bolt Company. However, her most fulfilling role was as a loving, caring, and devoted housewife and mother. Her home was a haven of warmth and acceptance, a place where everyone felt welcome and loved.
Michelle's hobbies included thrift shopping and yard selling with her daughter Angela, where they shared laughter and found treasures. Her love for animals was evident in the many pets she cared for over the years. Most of all, Michelle delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, watching them grow and thrive, and she took great joy in their accomplishments.
Known for her nonjudgmental nature and open heart, Michelle never spoke ill of anyone. Her warm and loving demeanor left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She lived her life with grace and compassion, qualities that will be remembered and celebrated by her family and friends.
A service to honor Michelle's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on October 11, 2026, at Massey Park, located at 321 North Buffalo St, Marshfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Atlanta, Georgia, in memory of Michelle's brave fight against cancer.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the kind expressions of sympathy and love they have received. They are comforted by the thought that Michelle's journey does not end here. Her love continues in the stories shared and the memories cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
