Michael John Murphy (Murf) Michael John Murphy was born July 21, 1956 in Springfield, Mo. He graduated from Glendale high school and studied geology at MSU. He worked for years at Star Appliance Service, and then worked as an ANPAC insurance agent for 17 years. Murf lived to duck hunt, fish, and go boating. He also loved to go to the Winfield Bluegrass Festival and camp with friends. He was an extraordinary man with a heart of gold. Mike died November 18, 2010. He is survived by his wife Tara; daughter; Starlyn Eve; parents; Frank and Marge Murphy; two sisters; Patty Hutchings and Carolyn Garrett; and many relatives and countless friends. A celebration of Mike's life will be December 4, 2010 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to Mike's favorite charity, his daughter. The Starlyn Eve Murphy College Fund will be set up at Liberty Bank.
