Michael Eugene Hammond was born February 23, 1971 in Sterling, Illinois to Ronald Lee Hammond and Lou Jean (Haun) Hammond.  He grew up in Morrison, Illinois.

Michael lived life to the fullest. In his younger years, Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He had been scuba diving, sky diving, and had even flown a plane. He had a generous soul and a kind heart. Michael was quick-witted and always ready for a good debate.  Michael was a man of solid character and had numerous friends.  Despite the many obligations of life, he still found time for all those he cared about.  Mike had a way of making everyone feel important, because to him they were, though none more important to him than his wife, Robyn and his son, Logan.  He was a man of many trades and skills and was always willing to lend a hand.

Most importantly, Michael was an exceptionally proud father and shining example to his son, Logan. He once told a friend two certain things in life were being with his family and making a home and future with them. His world revolved around Logan and Robyn.

Michael was beloved by his family and friends and will be forever missed.

He is survived by his son, Logan Michael Hammond; wife, Robyn Lindley of Republic, MO;  mother, Lou Jean Hammond of Columbia, MO; sister, Renee Hammond Andrews of Clovis, NM;  brother, Jonathan (Kelli) Hammond of Columbia MO; nephew, Benjamin (Holly) Harridge of Eminence, MO; nieces, Molly Hammond of Kansas City, MO and Grace Hammond of Columbia, MO; his in-laws, Vicki and Gary Lindley; and several close aunts, uncles, and cousins and numerous friends who were like family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald L Hammond, maternal grandparents, Ellis Eugene and Helen (Bates) Haun, paternal grandparents, John Thomas Hammond and Mary L Lang Dixon, step-grandfather, Sid Dixon and brother-in-law, Mike Lindley.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
