Michael Joseph Coleman, age 68, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021.

He was born August 8, 1952, in Memphis, TN.  The Coleman's moved to Springfield, MO in 1959 where he and his four siblings attended Immaculate Conception and St. Agnes High School where he met his wife, Theresa, and her five siblings. In his youth, Mike was a strong competitive swimmer for the Springfield Swim Club and continued to enjoy swimming as an adult. He was a respiratory therapist at Cox Health, where he was especially skilled working in the NICU, for 27 years before retiring in 2015. He enjoyed barbecuing, working outside, and spending time with his granddaughter.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents Patrick and Dorothy Coleman. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Theresa (Hagale) Coleman; his children Courtney and her husband Matt Straus, and Anne Marie; granddaughter, Lillian Straus; his siblings, Pat (Roberta), Tom (Kathy), Cathy Tonjuk (John), and John. He was also a fun-loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, tribute donations may be made in Michael's name to the Alzheimer's Association-Greater MO Chapter, 3645 South Ave., Springfield, MO 65807.
