Melinda Jackson, 50, of Springfield, MO passed away from health complications at 6:43 am Sunday, June 16, 2019 at her home.

Melinda was born April 23, 1969 in Troy, MO and later moved to Bland, MO with her parents and brothers during her early childhood.  After graduating Belle High School, she later attended and graduated from Missouri State University.  She continued to reside in Springfield until her passing.

While residing in Springfield, Melinda was married for a time and gave birth to her son - Zachary - who is a college student here in Springfield.  Her fiancé and partner for the last several years is David Baydowicz.

During her time with us, Melinda was also employed in multiple office occupations within both the trucking and farm supply industries.  Her attention to detail and joyful attitude made her a valued employee, trainer, and coworker.  She also attended church regularly at the Venues and was loved by all who knew her.  Her favorite hobbies were knitting, working in her garden and roses, and taking care of her cats.

She is survived by her son, Zachary Jackson; her mother, Joyce Deck, Gatewood, MO; and two brothers, Quentin Deck, Overland Park, KS, and Eric Deck, Rockledge, FL.

Melinda was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Deck, and a brother, Mitchell Deck.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 21, 2019 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
