Max W. Lilley, 96, Springfield, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in his home.  He was born November 19, 1921 in Hartville, MO, the son of Frank and Elva Lilley.  He graduated from Central High School, Missouri State University in 1941 and University of Missouri Law School in 1948.  He served in World War II from 1942-1945 and was an attorney for 50 plus years in Springfield.

Max was a member of the Shriner's, served on the Board of Regents for Missouri State University and served on Father's Committee at Stephen's College.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Una Lilley in 2005, one brother and one sister.

Max is survived by his son, Jack Lilley; daughter and her husband, Janice R. and Edward A. Montgomery; grandson and his wife, Michael W. and Jennifer Montgomery; and great-grandchildren, Maximus W. Montgomery and Lucinda Mae Montgomery.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
