Matthew Scott Davis, age 48, of Springfield Missouri, passed away December 21st, 2017 in his home following a sudden illness.
He was born October 2, 1969 in Springfield to William Paul "Bill" Davis and Diane Durham Davis.
Matthew attended Wilder and Hickory Hills schools, and was a 1987 graduate of Glendale High School. He furthered his education by attending Missouri State University and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was currently employed at the Home Goods store in Springfield. He had previously worked in Retail and for the family business. Some of his favorite hobbies and interests included photography, family pictures, and genealogy. He had a love of Automobiles, especially Mustangs. He also attained Master Gardener certification from Missouri Department of Conservation.
He is preceded in death by his Mother and his Maternal Grandparents, James and Billie June Durham of Springfield and Paternal Grandparents, Dean and Jean Davis of West Plains. Matthew is survived by his father Bill and his wife Lois, twin siblings Michael Kyle Davis of Springfield and Keri Kathleen (Peter) Hess and their son John William Hess of Huntington, Vermont, Lois' children, Greg Blair and Bryan Blair, his aunt Deborah Davilla and cousin Isaac Davilla all of Springfield, extended family, Deena (Morley) Golden of Sun Valley, Idaho. Dale Roper, Becker Farmer, Jeri Roper, Sue Roper, and Jana and Mike Setzer
Matthew enjoyed the love of his family, many friends, and his rescue dog "Courage". Memorial arrangements will be announced at a later date. Cremation is under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
