Born August 10, 1928 in Rochester, NY.  Died peacefully on October 7, 2017.  MaryLou graduated from Brighton High School and the University of Rochester.  She became engaged to Alan H. Miller, Sr. on the day of her college graduation which was the same day her fiancé was commissioned in the Navy.  MaryLou married Alan H. "Al" Miller, Sr. on September 2, 1950.

MaryLou had a wonderful life.  In the first year of their marriage, she followed Al while he was on duty throughout the Mediterranean.  She was a devoted mother to her two children, Janet and Alan, Jr. "Hoppy."  She volunteered at Rochester General Hospital and served on the board until her death.  Al and MaryLou moved to Springfield in 1972 when Al was relocated with R.T. French Co.  An avid golfer, she's been a member of Twin Oaks Country Club and played in many tournaments at the club.  MaryLou was active in bridge club and exercise group.  She has many wonderful friends.

MaryLou was preceded in death by her husband, Al and her sister, Betty Gallagher.  She is survived by her daughter, Janet Donahue (Fred); her son, Alan "Hoppy" Miller, Jr. (Debbie); her sister, Noni Postler; her grandchildren, Chris (Kerri) Donahue, Robert (Quinne) Donahue, Jennifer (Josh) Chastain, and Ryan (Cara) Kerr; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Gabriel, Logan, Ashley, Catherine, and Aubrey; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Convoy of Hope, or Christ Episcopal Church.  Services will be Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Christ Episcopal Church.  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
