Obituary

Mary Lou Stufflebam passed away on Tuesday, March 31st at the age of 92. She was born on April 30th, 1933, to Clarence and Virgie Mankin in Harrison, Arkansas. She attended Jefferson City High School and William Woods College. She met the love of her life, Robert Stufflebam, while attending William Woods and the two married in 1953. After Robert completed medical school, they moved to Springfield. She embraced the community and became an active member of First and Calvary Presbyterian church, the SMS Basketball Booster Club, and Hickory Hills Country Club.

Her life was about service to her community and, most importantly, her family. Her most treasured role was being Gram to her grandchildren. She was their partner in crime, the soft shoulder to snuggle with, and their confidant. She truly was the heart of the family with lots of love, joy, and laughter. Her mischievous sense of humor kept her family on their toes and put smiles on their faces. Her family will always remember the family pool parties, Christmas gatherings, epic Easter egg hunts, and special family events. She loved her family dearly and reminded them frequently of her love. Her humor and kindness will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children Steve and his wife Paula Stufflebam of Springfield, Kari Lamborn and her husband Tony of Springfield; her grandchildren Geoff and wife Kayla Stufflebam, Nick Ramsey and his wife Bhuvi Gupta, Brett Stufflebam and his husband Jon Pitts, Claire and her husband David Philiphose along with great grandchildren, Sebastian Stufflebam, Savannah Zeller, Isabella Zeller and George Philiphose.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Home Instead, especially to Tina and Nola, and to Turner’s Rock Memory Care for their loving care of Mama.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home located at 1947 E Seminole, Springfield, Missouri 65804 with a memorial service at 11:00 am. A celebration of life will follow the memorial service at Metropolitan Grill located at 2931 East Battlefield Springfield, Missouri.
